Company union organizes training for member representatives

On November 16, the company’s trade union organized member representatives and grassroots Party branch secretaries to attend a training session and participate in union activities at the Chenxi Xianrenyan Forest Farm. More than 40 members from six grassroots unions took part in the event.

Qu Zhaocai, Deputy Secretary of the Company Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Trade Union, first shared key insights from the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. He then conducted training on topics such as "What is a trade union member," "The rights and responsibilities of trade union members," and "How to effectively serve as a member representative." He emphasized that trade union members—especially member representatives—should clearly understand their roles, fulfill their duties, align their thinking, and perform their tasks diligently.

Liu Shujian, Chairman of the company's trade union, clearly outlined the priorities for the next phase and future trade union activities in his speech. First, we must strengthen the organizational development of the trade union—specifically by enhancing the training and cultivation of union committee members, improving their overall competence, and ensuring that the organization becomes more dynamic and vibrant. Through the collective efforts of all union members, let’s build a thriving "Workers' Home." Second, we must safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of employees. The trade union has four core functions, with safeguarding being the most crucial. However, this safeguarding is not an end in itself—it operates on the foundation of upholding the "overall interests of the enterprise," while simultaneously protecting the "legitimate rights and interests of employees." It’s essential to strike the right balance between "the enterprise’s overall interests" and "employees’ legitimate rights and interests," because only when the enterprise thrives can we truly lay a solid foundation for effectively defending workers' rights. Finally, we need to fully leverage the role of union members. All members should conscientiously fulfill their duties according to the standards and expectations set by the union, actively participating in various union-organized activities. By doing so, they can showcase their strengths and make meaningful contributions—in areas such as enterprise production and operations, as well as in cultural initiatives promoted by the union—thereby demonstrating the unique value and impact of each member.

The training session emphasized that all union members, especially member representatives, must cultivate a sense of honor and responsibility—and even more so, a profound sense of mission. They should rally their spirits, unite in collective effort, and muster unwavering determination to continue supporting and actively participating in the company’s various reforms and developments. By doing so, they can help build the union into a "workers' home" that is not only recognized by the enterprise but also trusted by employees, ultimately paving the way for the company’s steady and sustainable growth.
